Outpatient Therapy
About Therapy Services
Psychotherapy, or talk therapy, is a form of treatment that supports individuals in recognizing and transforming unhelpful thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. We serve all ages of individuals, couples, and families in Texas. AOC Outpatient therapy is available in-person, in-home, or online. Our in-person offices are in Houston & San Antonio.
Youth Therapy
About Youth Therapy
Although AOC now provides therapy for all ages, we previously solely specialized in therapy for children & teenagers – and continue to carry that expertise to this day. Through a combination of individualized counseling, family counseling, & community support our specialized youth therapy team addresses a wide range of mental health and behavior challenges.
Adult Therapy

AOC provides therapy for individuals across all stages of life. Through a combination of individualized adult counseling, group counseling, and community support, our experienced team addresses a wide range of mental health and behavioral challenges with care that is tailored to each person’s unique needs.
Substance Abuse
About Substance Abuse
Our structured addiction treatment program is designed to help individuals develop the skills, support systems, and accountability needed to overcome substance use and build a healthier lifestyle. Through a combination of group sessions and individualized counseling, participants receive guidance, education, and practical tools for lasting recovery.
Crisis Intervention
About Crisis Support
For persons at immediate risk of hospitalization, incarceration, or treatment placement. Our crisis support includes assessment, behavioral skills training, problem-solving, and reality orientation to help a person identify and manage their symptoms of mental illness, and cope with stressors.
Medication Management
About Medication Skills
Medication management is the process of organizing and tracking a patient’s medications to ensure safe and effective use. For persons 17 years of age and younger this service provides assessment, management, treatment planning and medication training support.
Intensive Case management
About ICM
Intensive case management is provided face-to-face with case managers arranging transportation to ensure the child or youth attendance.
Psychosocial Rehabilitative Services
About PRS
Psychosocial rehab is a mix of mental health services that helps people with mental health concerns develop the social, emotional, and intellectual skills they need to live happily with the smallest amount of professional assistance they can manage.
Independent Living Services
About ILS
Independent Living Services Assists a person in acquiring the most immediate, fundamental functional skills needed to enable the person to reside in the community and avoid more restrictive levels of treatment.
Coordinated Services
About Coordinated Care
Our coordinated services includes training activities that assist a person in improving his or her ability to gain and coordinate access to necessary care and services appropriate to the needs of the person.
Employment Services
About Employment Help
Our employment training is non job-specific and focuses on developing skills to reduce or manage the symptoms of serious mental illness that interfere with a person’s ability to make vocational choices or obtain or retain employment.
Skills Training
About Skills Training
Our skills training and development are supportive interventions focus on the improvement of communication skills, appropriate interpersonal behaviors and other skills necessary for independent living or, when age appropriate, functioning effectively with family, peers, and teachers.
